		<description>Well, this is definitely an interesting topic as all blogs will be affected by the economy. I&#039;ve already noticed that affiliate programs are changing and companies are offering lower commissions.

So, I think the key to success to be leaner. From what I can tell, many of the larger companies have more overhead than the individual blogger or small blog team. As a result, its easier for a smaller &#039;company&#039; or &#039;collective&#039; to be profitable, and will be able to &#039;survive&#039; on less.

It is also important to diversify your income streams. That is definitely key. And while I doubt we&#039;d ever get into a pay-per-post scenario (as search engine rankings and traffic would be negatively effected), there would be more &#039;sponsored&#039; blogs and &#039;sponsored&#039; categories.

But what do I know, I&#039;m just a little blogger here and most of my energies are in web development anyway. :-)
